The medical-grade “Filter Facial” uses a patented micro-channeling technology from France that painlessly, easily, and effectively delivers treatments with 99.9% Gold-plated surgical grade stainless steel microchannels, each thinner than a human hair. A specially formulated solution of neuromodulator (i.e., Dysport, Botox), hyaluronic acid skin boosting serum, B vitamins, antioxidants, amino acids, minerals and saline is stamped superficially into the top layer of the skin to achieve the desired result.
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is what makes up the extracelluar space between the body’s cells. It is a primary ingredient in most facial fillers and in many medical grade skin care products. HA can be derived using microchannel mesotherapy to plump and hydrate the skin, giving the skin a dewy, healthy glow.
Neuromodulators, in more dilute and superficial doses, function on the pilosebaceous units of the skin. The result is that the skin appears smoother, more even looking, with improved skin tone and pore size.
B vitamins can improve pigmentation, brown spots, uneven skin colour, rejuvenate the skin, treat acne scars, stretch marks, improve hair loss, and/or dark circles under the eyes.
Amino acids (Leucine, Isoleucine, Valine, Lysine, Threonine, Proline, Arginine) help the tissue heal and restructure itself by stimulating the production of, and stabilizing collagen formation. Minerals, including zinc and copper, are essential for DNA synthesis and cell division, contributing to healthy skin cells.
Lidocaine, a numbing agent used to help reduce discomfort, is applied onto the skin before the treatment to ensure no discomfort during the procedure. Patients comment that their skin is luminous for several months following the procedure. This is a treatment you have to try!
The MesoGold device is authorized for sale by Health Canada, as are all ingredients included within the formulation. Treatment areas can include the face (including the upper lip, under and around the eyes), the neck, the back of the hands, the décolleté, the hair and scalp.
The solution is stamped superficially into the skin. Three passes over each treatment area are completed. The treatment is almost painless, though you may feel a slight burning sensation while the solution is being injected. The procedure takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Effects appear immediately and will continue to improve over the next 1-2 weeks, with results lasting approximately 3-4 months. Results from the FILTER FACIAL are almost immediate. The day of the treatment, you will experience some mild swelling and redness of the skin. This is due to the microneedling effect of the facial whereby the small needs are stamped into the skin to deliver the product. A plumping and hydrated effect will be noticed immediately. Once the mild redness and swelling subsides, patients notice their skin feels tighter, more dewy, hydrated and plumped, with a more even tone and texture. These results can last weeks to months. Ongoing treatments are required to maintain the results from the facial, and are usually spaced every 3-4 months apart.
The FILTER FACIAL is generally very well tolerated. Prior to the treatment, a prescription-strength topical numbing cream is left on the treatment area (the face, neck or hands) so that the treatment is painless and comfortable. Please notify your injector if you have experienced any issues with treatments in the past, or have an unusually low pain tolerance.
